You took the time to write letters and postcards to the UAE Embassy in Washington, DC, to convince them to do the right thing and #PardonShez. It’s been 57 days, and the UAE has still not given a response.
Now, it’s time to take the next step in making our voices heard.
On Thursday, October 29 2015, we’ll be conducting a call-in campaign to the UAE Embassy in Washington, DC. Between 11am and 3pm Central US Time, we want to make the UAE Embassy’s phones ring and ring with your requests that UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan pardons Shez and makes restitution for the wrongful arrest and detention.
Here’s what to do:
1) Call the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Washington, DC at (202) 243-2400 and press 0 at the menu.
2) Ask the operator for the “Political Affairs” section.
3) When you are connected to the Political Affairs section, say: “My name is and I am calling to follow up on the letters sent to the Embassy in March and September 2015 regarding the unjust conviction of Shezanne Cassim on December 23, 2013. I request that President Sheikh Khalifa grants Shezanne a pardon and restitution.”
Feel free to post about your call on our Facebook page and let us know how it went!
